Featuring Artist Caroline Wright
When I think about why CoCollect works for artists, I think about artists like Caroline Wright. Caroline’s work has leased over time, creating an avenue to sustainable regular income and more sales. Caroline was kind enough to let me share the real numbers with you. Spoiler alert, this year we’ll near $100,000 in total sales and leasing fees. Check out how it’s worked for her below.
Our relationship didn’t start with a big strategy or a growth plan. It started with trust and a shared belief that artwork should live out in the world and be experienced.
Over time, I’ve shared Caroline’s work and many pieces found homes in offices and private residences across Denver, Austin, and Houston. Seven of her pieces are currently on loan. They’re being lived with. Experienced daily. Talked about.
And that has changed things. Check out the real numbers.
Leasing has created a new and steady income stream for Caroline, about $6,000 a year in earned leasing fees, but more importantly, it’s expanded her reach. New collectors have encountered her work in real spaces like country clubs, friends dining rooms and building lobbies. Conversations have started organically. Some of those relationships have led to significant sales, including The Garden the Body ($35,000), Hide ($22,500), and Devotion ($22,000) for a total of $79,000 in sales.
Those sales didn’t happen because of pressure. They happened because someone got to sit with the work. To understand it. To feel connected to it.
When I asked Caroline if she’d be open to sharing her experience, she said:
“I am so deeply grateful for our relationship and all the things CoCollect has helped me to achieve. I would add also that you’ve expanded artist relationships to clients and collectors, and gain more visibility online and in real spaces.”
That’s what this model really does.
Leasing isn’t about discounting work. It’s about widening the doorway. It allows collectors to engage slowly and artists to earn along the way. It allows artwork to circulate, to be seen, to build momentum.
Caroline’s success isn’t theoretical. It’s lived. Her work is out there, doing what it’s meant to do.
And that’s the kind of growth we want for more artists and more collectors alike.
